Foreign buyers are still crazy about the Spanish coast

Spanish regions of Alicante, Malaga and Mallorca are still popular with foreign buyers. The most popular request (over 50% of the total number of requests) is for real estate in the price range from €50,000 to €150,000, reports ee24.com, citing a study by Kyero.
It is also interesting that in the first half of 2013 about 40% of requests for real estate in Alicante were done for apartments, 33% of requests - for two-bedroom property, and 55% of customers would like a house with a swimming pool.
The figures are published at the same time that the agents report the highest number of inquiries and sales. Expert from Taylor Wimpey España said that their sales have grown from 97 sites in 2012 to 174 in 2013, while operating profit amounted to approximately €42 million.
Marc Pritchard, manager of sales and promotion at Taylor Wimpey España, said that the latest research conducted by portal Kyero provided very interesting information about what consumers want from Spain.
"We have learned first-hand about the changes in the customers' preferences before and after the recession, and realized that we need to offer exactly the same product that the buyer wants to see in the market" - said the expert.
He added that Alicante is the most popular Spanish province among foreign customers, which also imposes certain obligations on sellers of property.
While potential customers are looking for lower prices, luxury real estate market in Spain is doing well. Last year, the Balearic Islands were on the top in the rankings of sales of properties to foreigners worth more than €1 million. This trend is also observed in 2013.
In 2012, 729 sites have been bought by foreigners. The average price of the object was €1,080,361. For comparison, in Madrid, 41 site has been sold, the average price is €584,433.
According to statistics obtained from the Spanish College of Notaries, buyers from Britain, Russia, Switzerland and Scandinavia have been the most active in the Spanish market in 2012. This trend will continue in the first half of 2013. The Germans have lost a little ground, but are still among the most frequent buyers on the Balearic Islands.
Daniel Chavarria Waschke, executive director of the Balearics Sotheby's International Realty, is sure that Balearic Islands are so popular cause they meet all the requirements for luxury real estate, such as security, privacy, accessibility, infrastructure and exquisite beauty of nature.
